Medical Services

Michael J. Fucci, M.D. serves as the medical director at Arizona Hearing and Balance. As a medical practice, we treat disorders and diseases of the ear and related structures in both children and adults. Your health is our first responsibility as we abide by the Hippocratic Oath, rather than follow retail sales standards. Our adherence to this fundamental principle separates us from other healthcare providers who do not have the same philosophy.  As a medical office, we are held to the highest standards of care in testing, diagnosing and treating patients. Our staff has the highest level of formal education and experience available in the country.

Surgical Services

Dr. Fucci is board certified in both Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Neurotology - which is a surgical subspecialty that deals with hearing, balance disorders and tumors of the ear and skull base, in children and adults, including but not limited to:

Tympanoplasty:  the surgical repair of a perforation or hole in the eardrum

Stapedotomy:  the surgical repair of hearing loss caused when the third ear bone (stapes) is fixed and will no longer vibrate.

Mastoidectomy:  the removal of the bone behind the ear to alleviate disease.

Ossiculoplasty:  the surgical repair of hearing loss by reconstructing the ear bones.

Cochlear Implant:  the placement of an electrode in the cochlea to restore hearing.

Bone Anchored Hearing Processors- implantable hearing aids that vibrate the bone directly, restoring hearing while bypassing the ear, ear canal, eardrum and ear bones.

Myringotomy and tubes:  the placement of tubes in the eardrum to remove fluid and restore hearing.

Acoustic Neuroma Surgery:  removing a tumor on the hearing and balance nerve.
